The Military Sports concluded the International Peace Marathon, which was held last Friday in Jericho city, with the participation of nearly 200 male and female runners from the affiliates of the Security Institutions. “The Youth City of Hope” hosted the opening and the closing of the marathon, which reached a distance of 12 km, includes male categories from 18 to 35 years old, as well as over 40 years old, in addition to the female category.
Brigadier Amal Khalifa, Director of Military Sports, expressed her happiness with the success of the event and the active participation of various security forces, thanking “The Youth City of Hope” for hosting the event. Khalifa praised the level presented by the participants in the event, stressing that the military sports system has many sports talents and competencies in various individual and team games. She also pointed out that the International Peace Marathon is held annually on February 18th, on the occasion of the founding of the International Military Sports Federation, 139 countries around the world participate in it.
Finally, she stressed the keenness of military sports to organize this marathon, as part of the International Military Sports Federation, thanking the efforts of all teams from the various organizing committees of the event
